Trigger Point Massage

The massage will include the therapist locating and deactivating the trigger points with a specific point of pressure. This type of massage is useful to treat referred pain as well.
Designed to assist athletes to prepare their bodies for optimal performance, recovery after an event and function well with training. Sports massage is designed for those individuals with injuries, chronic pain or restricted range of motion. This type of massage also focuses on stimulating circulation of blood and lymph fluids. At times trigger point therapy is incorporated with sports massage. This type of massage is quite different from a spa massage, although the environment may be relaxing the technique is focused solely on functional rehabilitation with the muscle groups in a fixed area.

Hot Stone Massage
During a hot stone massage, the use of smooth, flat, heated stones is placed on specific parts of your body. These stones used during this type of massage are arranged on specific points on your body. The weight of the stone tends to warm and relax muscle groups, allowing the massage therapist to apply deeper pressure to those areas without causing discomfort. Overly tense muscles can hinder the massage procedure, so if your muscles are extremely tight or stiff, the heated stones may provide the extra relaxation you need for the massage to be beneficial in releasing tension and easing sore muscles.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep tissue massage therapy is similar to Swedish massage, but the deeper pressure is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus on this massage is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia. The technique used with deep tissue massage uses more of a slow paced motion, with forceful strokes to penetrate the deep layer of muscle and connective tissue.
